British intelligence released a satellite image showing the aftermath of two strikes on the oil depot in Engels.

The oil depot for the Russian army's strategic bombers in Engels has suffered significant damage following an attack by the Defense Forces.

This was reported on social media platform X by the British Ministry of Defense.

According to the summary, on January 8, 2025, Ukrainian drones struck the "Crystal" oil depot, located 8 km from the Engels-2 airbase. The strike caused large-scale fires in the fuel and lubricant storage area, which took several days to extinguish.

According to British intelligence, another strike on the "Crystal" oil depot occurred during the night of January 14, which again resulted in a fire and inflicted additional damage to the facility's infrastructure.

Satellite images reveal that 4 fuel storage tanks were destroyed and 10 were damaged.

Recall that Ukrainian drones attacked Engels. Following the attack, the oil storage facility at the airbase was ablaze. The city of Engels is home to a Russian airbase of the same name, where strategic long-range bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS are stationed, which Russia uses to attack Ukraine.
