China backs the US and Russia agreements to end the war in Ukraine, according to Wang Yi.

China is reportedly backing efforts aimed at ending the full-scale war, including the recent "consensus" reached between Russia and the United States.

This was stated by the head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Wang Yi, during the G20 summit in South Africa, writes Politico.

At the summit, Wang Yi held a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The Chinese MFA stated that Beijing "hopes that the parties involved can find a sustainable and long-term solution that takes into account each other's concerns."

"China supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace, including the recent consensus reached by the United States and Russia," he added, emphasizing that China is ready to play a "constructive role" in peace negotiations.

As Politico reminds, Wang Yi's statement came after the meeting of representatives from Russia and the United States in Saudi Arabia without Ukraine's participation, which raised concerns in the West about a possible peace agreement on terms favorable to the occupying country.
