The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has ordered the army (IDF) to prepare for "intensive warfare" should "Hezbollah" breach the ceasefire.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Times of Israel.
In his first interview following the ceasefire in Lebanon, Netanyahu stated that if Hezbollah does not adhere to the rules, there will be "intensive warfare."
"I have instructed the IDF. If there is a large-scale violation of the agreement, we will not only conduct surgical operations, as we are currently doing, and each time with the use of force. If there is a large-scale violation of the agreement, I have instructed the IDF to prepare for intensive warfare," said the Israeli Prime Minister.
When asked why Israel is not creating a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, Netanyahu noted that "the threat of a ground invasion has been removed."
According to him, the IDF has destroyed ground infrastructure at the border, underground bunkers, and tunnels.
Recall that on the morning of November 27, a ceasefire began between Israel and Hezbollah. As part of the agreement, Israel is to withdraw its troops from Lebanese territory within 60 days.
At the same time, Hezbollah militants are also required to leave the southern part of Lebanon. This agreement was developed by the United States.
