Политолог объясняет, почему Трамп не прокомментировал решение Украины наносить удары вглубь России.

If the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump were opposed to allowing Ukraine to conduct strikes, he would have stated that personally. However, currently, only his supporters are discussing the escalation.

This was mentioned by political scientist Oleg Saakyan in a comment to the YouTube channel.

According to the political scientist, Trump's team is currently maintaining a broad perspective on the situation surrounding the U.S. permission.

"Regarding Trump Jr. and Elon Musk, there is really nothing to discuss. These individuals do not directly influence this particular direction. They have made many statements that contradict the actions taken by Trump and his team," Saakyan says.

Concerning Mike Waltz, whom Trump appointed as a national security advisor, he also articulated his opinion quite interestingly. He stated that no one consulted him regarding the permission for Ukraine to strike Russia. Saakyan noted that he did not say "with us," "with the team," or "with the elected president."

"He didn't say it was the wrong decision; he said it was an escalatory ladder, and the next step would come from Russia, North Korea, and then back from the U.S., leading us to question where we are heading," the political scientist remarked.

It is also important to pay attention to what Trump is saying – he insists that both sides need to sit down at the negotiating table to end the war.

"However, none of them said that Trump would come in and cancel this decision the next day. This suggests that it is quite likely that Biden informed Trump about such a decision," Saakyan emphasized.

Permission for Strikes on Russia

Last weekend, the media reported that the United States approved the use of American weaponry by Ukrainian forces to strike Russian territory.

Later, the Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.

And today, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian A. Nichols officially confirmed that the White House has permitted Ukraine to use long-range weapons for strikes on Russian territory.
