The President of the Farmers Association, Ivan Tomych, stated that the increase in UZ tariffs will lead to the disappearance of family farming in the country. He emphasized that the number of family farms as legal entities has already decreased in Ukraine.
Tomych shared this in an interview with "RBK Ukraine".
According to him, the rise in tariffs will affect the prices of products produced by farmers, particularly in the grain sector. Small farms will be the most affected, as the selling price of products in family farms is, on average, 35% lower than that of agribusiness holdings.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that farmers urged "Ukrzaliznytsia" not to raise tariffs on freight transport. Experts believe that the increase in UZ tariffs will result in the loss of approximately 1.3 million tons of grain and oilseed harvests worth $300 million.
