Russia has already waged war against the EU, and Europe cannot withstand it without Ukraine, according to Shmyhal.

Ukraine understands how to counter Russian aggression and is capable of strengthening the EU, believes the Prime Minister.
Россия уже развязала войну против ЕС, в которой Европа не сможет устоять без Украины, - Шмыгаль.

The Russian Federation has already declared war on the European Union, despite the absence of tanks on the streets of European cities and the lack of trenches surrounding them.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this in his article for Politico.

“When Russian ships are destroying internet cables on the seabed of the Baltic Sea near Finland with their anchors – this is also an act of Russian aggression. When cruise missiles enter the airspace of Poland or Romania – this is an act of Russian aggression. When drones circle over the Ramstein Air Base in Germany – this is an act of Russian aggression. The migration pressure on the borders of Lithuania and Poland, the demarcation of the border with Estonia, direct support for separatism and radical policies, cyberattacks, and information assaults – all these are acts of multidimensional Russian aggression against the EU and its member states,” he noted.

Russia aims to instill panic and make citizens doubt their governments' ability to protect them, seeking support from “radical political forces within the EU,” which poses a threat to the security of the bloc, Shmyhal believes. Meanwhile, Ukraine knows how to counter Russian aggression and can strengthen the EU, as mentioned in the article.

“Thus, Ukraine's accession to the EU is not only a moral obligation but also a strategic step that is primarily necessary for the bloc itself. A step that will strengthen its eastern flank militarily and increase its geopolitical weight globally. The EU needs Ukraine to protect itself,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister wrote, emphasizing that no country in the European community has military experience comparable to that of Ukraine.

“It is the Ukrainians who have made the impossible possible by building almost from scratch an infrastructure for the production of drones – the ‘new artillery of the 21st century.’ If in 2022 Ukraine produced no more than 5,000 drones, by the end of 2024, over 1 million FPV drones will have been directed to the front,” Shmyhal stated.

According to him, Ukraine would hardly have been able to withstand Russia for three years alone, without the support of allies. He described the combination of Ukrainian forces with European resources as the “guarantee of further cooperation.”

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Shmyhal announced the modernization of border crossing points with the EU and Moldova. The reconstruction of 28 crossing points is planned, along with the construction of at least six new ones.
