Russia is intensifying pressure on Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region, according to British intelligence.

The occupiers have once again intensified their pressure on Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.

This was reported by the British Ministry of Defence on social media platform X.

“In the center of the Donetsk region, Russian forces have increased their pressure on the city of Velyka Novosilka,” the report states.

Russian troops have advanced northward to capture the villages of Neskuchne and Vremivka, the latter located west of Velyka Novosilka.

British intelligence reminds us that Russia's attempt to seize the city in the summer of 2022 failed, and in 2023 Ukraine pushed Russian forces southward.

“Russia's advance along this axis occurred after it captured other cities in the east—specifically, Vuhledar in October 2024 and Kurakhove in January 2025,” the intelligence added.
