Trump expressed frustration that the media is attempting to create a rift between him and Musk.

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his grievances regarding American media. He claims that there are attempts to create discord between him and Elon Musk, the head of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Trump in an interview with Fox News.

"I constantly observe such (media actions, - ed.)... Elon called me and said, 'You know, they are trying to set us against each other.' I replied to him, 'Absolutely right,'" he stated.

Trump complained that certain publications were spreading stories suggesting that he had handed over control of the country to Musk, and even referred to Musk as "the president."

"It’s so obvious. They are so bad at it. I used to think they were good at this. In reality, they are terrible," Trump said, commenting on the alleged attempts by the media to pit him against Musk.

The U.S. President also expressed confidence that Americans understand the motives behind publications that release such materials.

It is worth noting that American billionaire Elon Musk actively supported Donald Trump during the election campaign. He also donated a significant amount to his campaign.

Trump appointed Musk as the head of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and the Trump administration designated Musk as a special government employee.

According to American media reports, Musk's team reduced the U.S. Department of Education's expenses by more than $900 million.
