Residents of Saratov, Russia, reported a drone attack on the night of November 8. A fire broke out at the local oil refinery.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Astra.
The governor of Saratov region stated that a drone was allegedly destroyed over the area during the night. According to him, debris fell in the industrial zone of the Zavodsky district.
Footage of the fire at the oil refinery in Saratov has been published online. Residents claimed it was supposedly a flare from the plant. However, the footage clearly shows it is located to the right of the ignition site.
The Saratov oil refinery is better known as the "Cracking" plant. It is part of the "Rosneft" structure. The plant is located in the Zavodsky district of Saratov, where, according to the governor, debris fell.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that during the night, Russian air defense allegedly eliminated 17 drones. Of these, six were over the Voronezh region, six over Saratov, four over Belgorod, and one over Bryansk.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian forces have carried out dozens of operations "hunting" Russian oil refineries and fuel depots. Defenders are targeting facilities that support the Russian army and supply fuel to the occupying forces.
According to the Foreign Intelligence Service, three Russian oil refineries have partially ceased operations. The reason for this is incomplete repairs. Russians were unable to finish the repair work in October due to sanctions.
