U.S. President Joe Biden commented on the latest missile attack on Ukraine, stating that he has instructed the Pentagon to enhance the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
This information is included in a statement published on the White House website, as reported by Ukrinform.
The document notes that Russia launched a missile strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure on Christmas Eve. These actions by the Kremlin aim to leave Ukrainians without heat and electricity during the winter season.
“Let me clarify: the people of Ukraine deserve to live in peace and security, and the United States, along with the international community, must continue to support Ukraine until it prevails over Russia's aggression,” Biden stated.
It is also mentioned that in recent months, Ukraine has received hundreds of missiles for air defense systems from the U.S. However, an even larger quantity of weaponry is expected to be delivered soon.
I have directed the Department of Defense to continue ramping up the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and the United States will persistently work on strengthening Ukraine's position in its defense against Russian forces,” the U.S. president concluded.
