Transfer of aviation technicians to infantry: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has responded to the statements.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, explained the necessity of transferring certain military personnel to infantry. He assured that this does not apply to the highly qualified staff of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He discussed this in an interview with Andriy Tsapliienko.

According to him, his directive prohibits the transfer of highly qualified personnel who have undergone training and specialize in aircraft maintenance.

“Undoubtedly, these are specialists, resources that have been invested, who possess experience and are essentially irreplaceable – on one hand. On the other hand, we fundamentally need personnel at the front; we must raise an adequate number of troops in our mechanized brigades. Unfortunately, mobilization capabilities do not cover this need,” Syrskyi emphasized.

Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are reducing the logistical component and part of the support within the military, as well as those engaged in maintenance.

“Thus, the staffs are aware of these tasks; they have conducted calculations. And, of course, our task is to prevent such situations; if any problem arises, we must respond immediately. We must not allow anyone from this category to end up at the front,” the Commander-in-Chief stressed.

Recall that in December 2024, military personnel reported the transfer of Air Force specialists to units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including infantry. They highlighted the risks associated with aircraft maintenance due to this decision, which, as a consequence, could lead to issues with the combat readiness of aviation brigades.
