On the night of February 6, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, deploying 77 Shahed strike drones and imitator drones, as well as two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defense forces shot down 56 enemy targets.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders fired missiles from the Rostov region, while the drones were launched from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Shatalovo.
To repel the aerial assault, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, and other defense forces were engaged.
As a result of combat operations, 56 Shaheds and other drones were destroyed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions. Additionally, 18 enemy imitator drones lost their location connection.
