Help arrived from an unexpected source. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva accused U.S. President Donald Trump of seeking to "become the emperor of the world" and urged him to respect the sovereignty of other nations, according to Barron’s.

"By acting as he does, Trump is trying to become the emperor of the world," Lula said in an interview with a radio station. "He is attempting to interfere in all countries and in all state policies."

These statements followed Trump's sharp criticism of Ukraine's leadership, where he labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a "dictator without elections" and claimed, without any evidence, that his approval rating had dropped to 4%. Trump also warned that the Ukrainian president "better act quickly, or he won't have a country left."

Lula urged Trump to "realize that it is necessary to respect the sovereignty of each country," as well as to make greater gestures of "friendship."

On February 19, Zelensky criticized the U.S. president for being influenced by Russian disinformation regarding the war in Ukraine, reiterating claims about low ratings and asserting that Ukraine is responsible for the war.

Later, Trump stated that Russia has advantages in negotiations because it has seized much territory. The White House indicated that Trump's remark about a "dictator" was a response to Zelensky's comments that the U.S. president lives in a "disinformation space."

Meanwhile, The Economist reported that Trump's team wants to get rid of Zelensky.

"Trump wants to remove Zelensky, who he has always disliked and considers inconvenient," the publication quotes a former diplomat. "It's not about the elections; it's about getting rid of Zelensky."
