A video is circulating online showing Russian terrorists executing unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war. The lack of accountability turns the enemy's crimes into a systematic pattern.
This was reported in a telegram channel by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, the video shows Russians shooting six Ukrainian soldiers who were captured. The fate of the seventh fighter is unknown as the video cuts off.
“The execution of each captured soldier occurs in front of other comrades. The occupiers command them to ‘lie down and shut up,’ while the ‘operator’ of the crime states ‘One – mine,’ and later it is seen how he fires a series of bullets into the back of one of the prisoners,” writes Lubinets.
The Ombudsman added that Russian occupiers have never treated prisoners of war with dignity and have once again demonstrated their criminality.
“I am once again sending information about this crime to the UN and the ICRC. This fact must be recorded! The absence of accountability has turned the crime into a systematic issue,” he added.
As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Donetsk region.
According to preliminary data, during an assault on Ukrainian positions, the terrorists captured six fighters and subsequently executed them.
“Currently, investigative actions are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the individuals involved in its commission,” adds the Office of the Prosecutor General.
