Prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, acting on behalf of the Deputy Attorney General, have announced charges against a judge from the Babushkinsky District Court in Dnipro, who unlawfully appropriated an apartment in the historical center of the city. This was reported by the Office of the Attorney General and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The judge had been renting the property for a long time, but for the last six months, he failed to pay rent and did not allow the owner access to her apartment. Additionally, he filed a lawsuit in another district court, demanding recognition of his ownership rights to this property.

Based on forged evidence, the court issued a default judgment, satisfying the claims of the cunning judge and recognizing his ownership rights to the respective property.
As evidence in court, the judge presented a forged receipt from the property owner, who allegedly received 412,000 hryvnias for the sale of the apartment. However, the woman stated that she had not received any money and had not signed any documents.

According to the handwriting analysis conclusion, the signature on the receipt is forged. Another examination established that the actual market value of this apartment is nearly 1 million hryvnias.
During searches, law enforcement seized a mobile phone from the judge containing evidence of the illegal appropriation of the property.
A motion has been prepared for the High Council of Justice to grant permission to detain the judge and to suspend him from administering justice.

Law enforcement officials have informed the suspect of charges under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- part 5 of article 190 (fraud committed on a particularly large scale);
- part 2 of article 384 (deceiving the court or another authorized body for selfish motives).
The offender faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
