President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the nighttime strike by Russian forces on Ukrainian territory. He urged for increased pressure on Russia.
Last night, the Russian army launched nearly 60 drones into Ukraine. According to the Air Forces, the Russians launched drones from four directions in Russia: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The air defense forces destroyed 25 drones. The air defense operations were conducted in the Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions.
According to the president, rescue operations continued throughout the night in areas where debris had been reported.
"Unfortunately, three people have died. My condolences to the relatives and loved ones. There are injured individuals receiving necessary assistance. The rescue operation was completed only at 9 AM," Zelensky wrote.
The president expressed gratitude to the rescuers, medical staff, police, and everyone who helped save lives.
"I also thank every leader and every country that is exerting pressure on Russia to bring this unprovoked and terrorist war to an end. In particular, there must be accountability for every component used to produce 'Shaheds' and missiles that are supplied in circumvention of sanctions. Russia would not be able to fight at all if the capabilities of Russian accomplices to assist this terror and assaults on the front were genuinely restricted," Zelensky stated.
