In the Sumy region, law enforcement officials reported suspicions against the acting director of one of the vocational schools in Romny and his deputy, who demanded and received a bribe for the successful passing of exams by students.
According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, the suspects required one of the teachers to collect 2,800 UAH from each student in the group he taught for the successful completion of the exam. The teacher warned the students that anyone who did not pay would not pass the exam.
On January 28, the director and his deputy were detained after receiving 36,500 UAH from the teacher.
“At the same time, during a search in the director's office, 209,000 UAH in cash was found and seized,” the prosecutor's office stated.
Currently, the issue of selecting preventive measures for the suspects and their suspension from office is being resolved.
