The National Bank of Ukraine has released the results of a survey involving 20 banks participating in the program for financing the restoration of energy infrastructure. According to the regulator, from June to October 2024, banking institutions received 2,927 applications from businesses totaling UAH 66.2 billion.
This is mentioned in a statement by the NBU.
As of the end of October, banks had already approved applications amounting to UAH 11.7 billion, including both signed agreements and those in preparation for signing. The gross loan portfolio for energy needs of legal entities reached UAH 3.4 billion.
In October alone, 443 new applications were submitted for a total of UAH 11.5 billion. During the same month, banks approved 1,699 applications totaling UAH 3.9 billion and issued 267 loans with a total volume of UAH 1.56 billion.
A key indicator of the program's effectiveness has been the total financed generation capacity, which from the loans provided to businesses since June amounted to approximately 310 MW.
Simultaneously, a program for lending to the public is also developing. In October, citizens received 1,000 loans totaling UAH 176 million. The total gross loan portfolio for energy needs of individuals increased to UAH 366 million.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that a recent survey of banks showed that in the third quarter, a record share of respondents forecasted an increase in business lending over the next 12 months, marking the highest level since the beginning of 2022.
