The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden plans to utilize all remaining funds to support Ukraine before his term ends on January 20. This was announced during a briefing by White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre, as reported by Ukrinform.
“I don’t have numbers or estimates for you on how much funding will remain or not remain (for assistance to Ukraine - ed.) over the next 45 days... but we are committed to deploying this money,” Jean-Pierre stated. She addressed media reports citing sources within the administration, suggesting that the Biden government might not be able to expend all remaining funds from the aid package approved by Congress in April.
In response to a question about whether President Biden is concerned that his successor might halt assistance to Ukraine if funds remain, Jean-Pierre noted that this process will continue in the future. She also reminded that support for Ukraine was approved on a bipartisan basis, which is important to consider.
Let’s remember that Joe Biden is preparing a military aid package for Ukraine worth $725 million. However, according to WSJ, Biden will not be able to spend billions on weapons for Ukraine before the end of his term.
