The White House aims to swiftly transfer the remaining funds to Ukraine before Trump takes office, according to Politico.

The Pentagon has stated that it will continue to support Ukraine through the approved aid packages, and new deliveries may be announced in the coming weeks.
Белый дом стремится быстро передать Украине оставшиеся средства, прежде чем Трамп снова займет пост президента, сообщает Politico.

The administration of current U.S. President Joe Biden is preparing to deliver the final military aid package to Ukraine, amounting to over $6 billion, anticipating that support for Kyiv may cease with the inauguration of the new president, Donald Trump.

This was reported by Politico, citing sources within the White House.

Of the total package, $4.3 billion is allocated for weapons already stored in Pentagon warehouses, while $2.1 billion is designated for new orders from manufacturers.

As former Pentagon budget official Mark Cancian explained, the U.S. can send arms to Ukraine "only as new weapons are produced."

Cancian also noted that the authorities could utilize Pentagon reserves for these purposes, but it remains unclear whether U.S. military leadership will take such a step.

U.S. Defense Department representative Charlie Ditz told Politico that the Pentagon will continue to support Ukraine within the framework of approved aid packages, and new shipments may be announced in the coming weeks, according to him.

The elected president, who will take office on January 20, will have the authority to halt shipments approved by their predecessor if they have not yet been dispatched.

Donald Trump has previously expressed skepticism about military aid to Ukraine. “The first thing Trump will do is cut off aid to Ukraine. He will make a big show out of it,” believes former senior Pentagon official Jim Townsend.

The presidential elections in the U.S. took place on November 5. Republican Donald Trump, who received 277 electoral votes against the required 270, won over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who garnered 224 votes.

Background. Meanwhile, Kyiv Post reported that President Zelensky's statement regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces receiving only 10% of American aid is accurate. The White House and Pentagon plan to spend clearly less than half of the $61 billion approved by Congress, estimates Kyiv Post, while the remaining funds will likely be lost after the financial year ends.
