On Monday, March 3rd, Ukraine and the world celebrate International Writer's Day. This is a professional holiday for authors, literary figures, and everyone who has dedicated themselves to the written word. The holiday was established by the International PEN Club (PEN International) in 1986.

Additionally, March 3rd is also International Irish Whiskey Day. This unofficial holiday is dedicated to Irish whiskey, one of the oldest and most renowned types of whiskey in the world.

Furthermore, today marks World Tennis Day, which falls on the first Monday of March. This international celebration aims to promote tennis, foster its development among youth, and attract new players. World Tennis Day was initiated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 2013.

Today, we commemorate 159 years since the founding of the National Library of Ukraine named after Yaroslav the Wise in Kyiv.
