"Madam Vice President, let it burn," Biden clumsily joked about the wildfires in Los Angeles.

With this joke, Joe Biden addressed Kamala Harris, a native of California.
«Госпожа вице-президент, вперед!» – Байден неудачно пошутил о пожарах в Лос-Анджелесе.

During a briefing at the White House regarding the wildfires in Los Angeles, U.S. President Joe Biden surprised many with his comments. This has been reported by New York Post and Yahoo.

At the beginning of his speech, the 82-year-old president urged Vice President Kamala Harris to "burn," which took many by surprise, given the extent of the devastation caused by the disaster. Biden then accused local energy companies of being responsible for the drying up of fire hydrants in the area. However, both utility providers quickly denied this claim.

“Madam Vice President, I know this directly affects you, so burn!” Biden said to Vice President Kamala Harris, a California native, who looked at the president in astonishment as he sat next to her at the Roosevelt Room table.

“No joke,” he added in response to Harris's bewilderment.

It is worth noting that wildfires have erupted in the Los Angeles area of Southern California, resulting in casualties and a state of emergency has been declared. The flames spread across an area equivalent to five football fields in just one minute and reached an upscale neighborhood where Hollywood stars reside.
