On Wednesday, February 5, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine received a constitutional petition from 51 members of the Ukrainian parliament regarding the constitutionality of the Law of Ukraine "On the De-Sovietization of Ukrainian Legislation" dated April 21, 2022, No. 2215-IX, concerning the non-application of a number of regulatory legal acts of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the official website of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

The subject of the right to a constitutional petition, in particular, notes that "if land rights were obtained based on legislation not applicable in Ukraine and have not yet been re-registered according to Ukrainian law, the validity of such rights is questionable. In the event of a dispute or non-recognition of such rights, it will be difficult to defend their legitimacy, as the source of law from which they arose is not applicable in Ukraine."

The constitutional petition is currently being processed in the Court's Secretariat.
