At the "Mogilev-Podolsky" checkpoint, border guards, in collaboration with customs officials, discovered undeclared currency that a 49-year-old citizen from another country was attempting to export. This was reported by the Southern Regional Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The man, heading out of Ukraine, chose the "green corridor," presumably hoping to evade additional inspections. However, during the inspection of his vehicle, a black plastic bag containing 24,800 US dollars was found under the rear passenger seat.
The inspection did not end there: during a further search of the man's personal belongings, an additional 23,850 US dollars was discovered. Thus, the total amount of undeclared currency amounted to approximately 50,000 US dollars.
In response to the customs violation, customs representatives drew up protocols under part 1 of article 483 ("Transportation of goods across the customs border while concealing them from customs control") and part 1 of article 471 ("Non-declaration of goods transported across the customs border by citizens") of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The undeclared funds were confiscated.
