A draft law is set to be registered soon in the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada, which proposes to extend the mandatory military medical commission period for those classified as partially fit for another four months. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the President's Office Irina Vereshchuk.
According to her, the draft law includes two key changes:
- Extension of the mandatory military medical commission period until early June 2025.
- Exemption from the obligation to undergo the military medical commission for individuals under 25 years old who are classified as partially fit.
As previously reported by “Legal Newspaper”, Deputy Head of the President's Office Irina Vereshchuk stated that the period for undergoing the military medical commission needs to be extended by at least three months to allow all military conscripts who were previously deemed partially fit to complete it. Currently, those classified as partially fit must undergo the military medical commission by February 4. Subsequently, Vereshchuk informed that the deadline for undergoing the military medical commission for those partially fit could be extended until June.
As reported by “Legal Newspaper”, on May 4, 2024, law 3621-IX concerning re-examinations for those partially fit came into effect. The relevant changes are included in the draft law No. 10313, adopted as law, which aims to ensure the rights of military personnel and police officers to social protection.
