The elected President of the United States Donald Trump once again expressed a proposal for Canada to become the 51st state of the USA in his Christmas greeting. He shared this on the social network Truth Social.

“Merry Christmas to everyone, including the wonderful soldiers of China, who lovingly, yet illegally, manage the Panama Canal, where we lost 38,000 people during its construction 110 years ago,” stated Trump.

He also referred to Justin Trudeau as the “governor” of Canada. According to him, taxes for the country's residents are high, but “if Canada became our 51st state, their taxes would be reduced by more than 60%.”

Trump also reached out to the people of Greenland, “who are needed by the United States for national security purposes and who want the U.S. to be there.”

It is noteworthy that during his first presidency, Trump proposed purchasing Greenland.

The elected President of the United States announced plans to impose a 25% tariff on all goods coming from Canada and Mexico, along with an additional 10% tariff on goods from China. Furthermore, such tariff ideas have been highlighted by Trump's repeated jokes about Canada being the “51st state.”
