Professor of the Institute of Journalism at Kyiv National University Nikita Vasylenko, who found himself at the center of a scandal due to his statements about "hungry Ukrainian women," may face dismissal. The Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism voted in favor of firing the professor. This information was reported by "Babel" based on sources within the Institute of Journalism.
According to the report, the issue will be reviewed by the ethics committee of Taras Shevchenko National University on December 26.
“A preliminary decision has already been made — the instructor will receive a second reprimand, leading to dismissal by the end of the year. Vasylenko received his first reprimand about a year ago,” they noted.
Previously, as reported by “Legal Newspaper,” the university's rector Vladimir Buhrov stated that he had already contacted the ethics committee, which is expected to assess Vasylenko's behavior on December 26. If his statements are deemed inappropriate according to ethical standards, the professor will receive a second reprimand and may be dismissed in accordance with the Labor Code.
We remind you that Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets initiated an investigation due to the statement made by Professor Vasylenko from KNU.
