In the Cherkasy region, a man got a job at a company to secure a reservation but never showed up for work.

An indictment has been sent to court regarding a 38-year-old resident of Kyiv Oblast for the illegal acquisition of someone else's property through the abuse of his official position. This was reported by the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement authorities established that the accused, being subject to military service, sought to obtain a deferment by securing employment at a critical energy infrastructure enterprise in Cherkasy Oblast.

Throughout 2023, in collusion with officials of the enterprise, he received a salary without performing any work specified by his job responsibilities.

“Through these unlawful actions, the accused unlawfully acquired more than 130,000 UAH from the critical energy infrastructure enterprise,” the prosecutor's office stated.

They also added that the accused faces a prison sentence of three to eight years.
