In the Cherkasy region, law enforcement officials have reported suspicions against residents of the cities of Uman and Cherkasy for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period.
According to the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, two 36-year-old men were managing groups in internet messengers at various times from January to October 2024.
The suspects created these groups for individuals avoiding mobilization. They disseminated information about locations where representatives of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) were delivering summonses, as well as their movement routes.
“Due to the widespread disclosure of such information, local residents were able to avoid encounters with TCC employees and police.
This created conditions for them to evade fulfilling their constitutional military duty,” the prosecutor's office stated.
They noted that conditional words and designations of weather phenomena were used to indicate the locations of summons delivery and the movement routes of TCC employees.
As a result of investigative actions, the activities of the illegal internet community have been blocked.
The offenders face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
