A woman without a permanent residence has been convicted in Lviv region for breaking into someone else's home and stealing money. According to the Zhydachiv District Court, the defendant took advantage of the fact that the door was unlocked and stole 15,000 UAH from the owner's wallet. This is stated in the verdict of the Zhydachiv District Court of Lviv region in case No. 443/1484/24.
The incident occurred on April 8, 2024, in Zhydachiv, when the woman, noticing the absence of the owner, entered the house, searched the rooms, and found a wallet with money. After stealing the funds, she left the crime scene.
The thief admitted her guilt, sincerely repented, and partially returned the stolen money. The victim had no complaints against the defendant. The court found the woman guilty under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced her to five years in prison, with a two-year probation period based on Article 75 of the CCU.
The court also took into account mitigating circumstances, particularly the defendant's remorse and cooperation with the investigation, but also considered aggravating factors - the crime was committed against an elderly person. The defendant is required to pay court costs amounting to over 2,200 UAH.
