Еврокомиссия уверяет, что, несмотря на угрозы Трампа, продолжит оказывать помощь Украине.

The spokesperson for the European Commission (EC) assured that, despite Donald Trump's threats to halt aid to Ukraine, the EU will continue to support the country both militarily and financially, and will consider a peace agreement with Russia only on terms favorable to Ukraine.

This was reported by the Polish agency PAP from Brussels.

EC foreign affairs spokesperson Peter Stano stated at a press briefing in Brussels on Wednesday that speculation about Europe standing alone in supporting Kyiv is "premature," and reminded that funding for Kyiv is guaranteed until next year.

Stano also noted that the EU's position on aid to Ukraine remains unchanged, which was clearly confirmed in the conclusions adopted during the meetings of EU leaders.

"The European Union and its member states remain committed to continuing to provide assistance to Ukraine and supporting its fight for the restoration of independence and territorial integrity," he stated.

In response to a question about whether the EU would counter any potential attempts by Trump to force Ukraine to accept a ceasefire with Russia on unfavorable terms, EC spokesperson Eric Mamer said that, in the view of the European Commission, maintaining a strong and sovereign Ukraine is in the interest of both the US and the EU.

"We have repeatedly stated that this war could end even tomorrow if Russia stops its aggression against Ukraine," emphasized the EC spokesperson.

He noted that the European Commission's position on peace in Ukraine is unchanged and will remain so.

Background. Meanwhile, the WSJ reported that Trump's advisors are considering freezing the war in Ukraine and barring it from joining NATO for 20 years. However, a final plan to end the war has not yet been approved by Trump, as sources claim he will make the decision at the last moment.
