The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 15 billion UAH for compensation to internally displaced persons (IDPs) for homes damaged or destroyed due to armed aggression by the Russian Federation.
This was reported in Telegram by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, this decision will enable over 10,000 families to acquire new housing. The funds will be provided under the "eRecovery" program.
"The first 4.3 billion UAH for further payment of housing certificates have already been transferred to the Ministry of Development's account. Together with the Ministry of Social Policy, a separate funding program has been created specifically to assist IDPs," Shmyhal stated.
Starting today, funds for purchasing new housing are available to internally displaced persons who have lost their homes due to hostilities. This was announced on Facebook by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba. According to him, this program is accessible to Ukrainians with IDP status who have lost their only property. The service is available for destroyed housing located in controlled territories or in areas of active combat. Kuleba emphasized that an important condition is the possession of a valid IDP certificate. If one does not exist, it can be obtained through the executive bodies of village, settlement, or city councils; administrative service centers; mobile applications; or the "Diia" portal. "IDP status can be obtained even if the relocation occurred within the same community. Applications for compensation can be submitted via the portal or the "Diia" app or through the CNAP. Lists for receiving compensation are formed automatically, based on the information provided in the IDP certificate," the government official noted. He added that if a person has already received a housing certificate for destroyed property under the "eRecovery" program and has submitted an application for reserving funds, they are entitled to compensation under the new direction. No additional actions are needed. "Compliance with the aforementioned criteria is the only condition. In this case, you will receive a notification about the successful reservation of the certificate and will have 30 days to realize it and purchase a new home," Kuleba stated.Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (DBCE) approved an additional 150 million euros for two housing projects in Ukraine – for IDPs and for compensation for destroyed housing.
