Ukraine will implement new sanction packages against representatives of the Russian Federation. These will target Russia's "shadow" fleet, propagandists, and those assisting in the export of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
He reported that the NSDC of Ukraine held a session where a number of economic issues and the strengthening of sanctions were discussed.
“Decisions regarding sanctions have been made at the NSDC. The lists will be available soon. There will be several strict packages,” Zelensky announced.
NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Lytvynenko mentioned that three new sanction packages against individuals and legal entities from the Russian Federation are being prepared.
“The Security Service, together with intelligence agencies, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Main Intelligence Directorate, proposes to impose sanctions on 83 individuals for facilitating the export of Russian oil products and goods from the aggressor state. This primarily concerns the 'shadow' fleet,” he said.
According to him, the second package, based on proposals from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, will include 41 individuals and 47 legal entities. These are producers of Russian propaganda films and companies specializing in the distribution of anti-Ukrainian content materials.
The third sanction package, formed by the Security Service based on materials from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, will be imposed on Russians who facilitated the removal of Ukrainian heritage from museums in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
