The Security Service of Ukraine has compiled a vast body of evidence and received conclusions from independent expert assessments confirming the anti-Ukrainian activities of the former host of the sanctioned TV channels "Our" and "NewsOne," which were owned by Viktor Medvedchuk and Yevhen Murayev.
According to reports from the SBU press service.
As part of the case materials, after the onset of the full-scale war, the individual created his own channel on the YouTube video hosting platform, where he continued to spread Kremlin narratives. To achieve this, the blogger regularly invited pro-Russian "political experts" to his broadcasts, many of whom are currently hiding in the Russian Federation.
"During interviews, both the host and the guests of the studio repeatedly attempted to justify Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as the war crimes of the occupiers, including missile strikes on the civilian infrastructure of our state," the statement reads.
It is noted that a "frequent guest" of the individual was another pro-Kremlin blogger, who in February 2024 had already received a suspicion from SBU investigators. At that time, the court chose a preventive measure for him – house arrest, but later the blogger continued his subversive activities in the interests of Moscow.
According to the SBU, both individuals publicly attempted to discredit Ukraine on the international stage and destabilized the socio-political situation within our state.
Currently, SBU investigators have informed them of their suspicion under parts 2 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The question of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspects is being resolved. They face up to 8 years in prison with asset confiscation.
