The U.S. has sent dozens of Patriot missiles from Israel to Ukraine, as confirmed by the Pentagon.

Discussions about the possibility of supplying missiles to Ukraine have been ongoing since last summer.
США отправили десятки ракет Patriot из Израиля в Украину: это подтвердили в Пентагоне.

Ukraine has received approximately 90 missiles for the Patriot air defense systems, which were stored in Israel. This supply occurred with the mediation of the United States.

As writes CNN, this was reported by an official Pentagon representative.

Israel utilized these air defense systems for over 30 years before decommissioning them in April. Discussions about the possibility of transferring missiles to Ukraine had been ongoing since last summer, when the Biden administration sought ways to strengthen Ukraine's air defense against Russian attacks.

Ukraine is in urgent need of additional Patriot missiles, as Russia regularly conducts missile and drone strikes, testing its air defense system's resilience.

However, military support from Israel remains limited. The Israeli leadership is attempting to avoid open confrontation with the Kremlin, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is balancing relations with Vladimir Putin, complicating the decision-making process regarding the transfer of munitions.

Ultimately, the Patriot missiles, initially provided to Israel by the United States, were eventually transferred to Ukraine.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the U.S. is considering the possibility of purchasing weapons for Ukraine using frozen Russian assets. The idea of directing Russian assets towards Ukrainian defense needs remains "on the table" for Trump, Kellogg stated.
