The court has seized "new" assets of Deripaska valued at over 2 billion UAH, according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

It concerns nearly 500,000 tons of bauxite and alumina.
Суд наклав арешт на нові активи Дерипаски вартістю понад 2 млрд грн, повідомляє СБУ.

The court has imposed a seizure on a large batch of industrial products and raw materials owned by the sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

This was reported by the Security Service (SBU).

It concerns nearly 500,000 tons of bauxite and alumina, which were produced in Ukraine prior to the full-scale invasion. They were stored at the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, which was previously owned by a Russian national. The total value of the seized assets exceeds 2.11 billion UAH.

This product was a key component for aluminum production at Deripaska's Russian plants, "Rusal." The assets were controlled by the oligarch through a commercial entity registered in one of the EU countries. This same company acted as the formal purchaser of the Mykolaiv plant's products for subsequent re-export to Deripaska's Russian enterprises.

In early 2023, Ukrainian law enforcement uncovered the scheme and blocked the shipment of this raw material.

Deripaska is part of Putin's inner circle and is involved in producing goods for the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country. In particular, his factories manufacture components for Iskander ballistic missiles, combat drones, and radar systems.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the EU court in Luxembourg rejected Deripaska's lawsuit to lift the sanctions imposed on him in April 2022. Despite the sanctions, the oligarch continues to earn billion-dollar profits from trade with the West.
