The Kremlin has confirmed that it is in contact with Trump's administration regarding Ukraine.

The USA and Russia are already in contact regarding the conclusion of the war in Ukraine, stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. According to him, this is happening "through certain departments," reports moscowtimes.ru.

"There are indeed contacts, and they have intensified recently. However, I cannot provide any other details," Peskov noted.

In this way, he commented on the statement by American President Donald Trump that the USA is conducting "very good and constructive" negotiations regarding the resolution in Ukraine with both Kyiv and Moscow.

Thus, the Kremlin confirmed for the first time the existence of contacts with the new administration of the White House.

On January 16, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Trump’s team had not reached out to the Kremlin, which is waiting for a call from the new head of state.

Trump himself revealed on January 30 that he had a phone conversation with Putin.

CNN previously reported that the US president instructed his team to arrange a call with Putin immediately after the inauguration, which took place on January 20. According to sources from the channel, during the conversation, Trump planned to propose a personal meeting with Putin in the coming months to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine.
