The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and PJSC "Ukrnafta" have signed a loan agreement worth 80 million euros to support energy infrastructure.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The EBRD loan will also be co-financed by investment grants amounting to 9.5 million euros from the Netherlands and 12.5 million euros from the United States of America, which will be allocated through the Bank's Special Fund and will enable "Ukrnafta" to build additional gas distribution generation capacity.
The financing includes the supply and installation of gas distributed power plants and cogeneration capacities totaling approximately 100 MW across various regions of Ukraine.
The agreement between the EBRD and "Ukrnafta" is the first within the investment package for Ukraine exceeding 1.3 billion euros, designated for the restoration of energy and transport infrastructure. The EBRD Board of Directors approved it on December 4. Overall, the package includes funding for eight projects in the public and private sectors.
Currently, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is implementing more than 200 projects in Ukraine totaling over 5 billion euros. Last year, the EBRD provided a record 2.1 billion euros to the country, and in 2022, it was 1.7 billion euros.
