The spokesperson for the European Commission, Stefan Kersmaker, announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will co-chair a meeting between the European Commission and the Ukrainian government.

This was reported by "Interfax-Ukraine." 

According to the spokesperson, von der Leyen will arrive in Kyiv with a delegation to express unwavering support from Europe for Ukraine’s fight for independence and freedom, three years after the onset of the full-scale war with Russia.

In a press release circulated in the media, it was emphasized that over the past three years, the EU "has steadfastly stood by Ukraine and made every effort to help the country achieve a just and lasting peace."

"The EU has supported Ukraine's financial stability, made international efforts to hold Russia accountable for its crimes, and worked closely on Ukraine's accession process to the EU. Currently, the EU is the largest donor to Ukraine, training soldiers, financing arms supplies, and imposing strict sanctions on Russia," the statement read.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the EU is preparing a military assistance package for Ukraine worth at least 6 billion euros. An announcement may be made ahead of the symbolic visit of the European commissioners to Kyiv, scheduled for February 24.
