Vladimir Zelensky suggested that a ceasefire agreement with Russia could be achieved if the territories controlled by Ukraine and not occupied are under NATO protection. According to the president, this would enable him to later negotiate the return of the remaining territories "through diplomatic means."
He stated this in an interview with SkyNews.
The entire Ukraine, within its internationally recognized borders, should be invited to join the Alliance, the president emphasized.
Zelensky noted that a ceasefire is necessary to "ensure that Putin does not return" to seize more Ukrainian territories.
"If we want to stop the hot phase of the war, we need to bring the territories we control under NATO's umbrella," the president said.
