Dnipro has become the first city in Ukraine to install uninterruptible power supply systems for traffic lights at busy intersections, reports the correspondent of "Vіdomo".
Currently, 30% of such facilities are equipped with these batteries. A total of 41 uninterruptible power sources have been installed in the city, with 28 of them added in 2024. By the end of the year, it is planned to add around 40 more devices, ensuring stable operation for nearly 60 traffic light installations.
Dnipro manages 229 traffic lights, which are controlled through the Central Control Point of the Automated Traffic Management System (ASUDD). A dispatcher works there around the clock, and during the day, engineers and technologists join the team. This enables prompt resolution of any technical issues, ensuring road safety in the city.
