During the night, reports of explosions in the Rostov region surfaced, with residents of Taganrog specifically mentioning the blasts.

The temporary governor of the Rostov region declared a "combined attack." According to him, the Russian air defense allegedly destroyed eight drones over the Azov Sea, near Taganrog and Novocherkassk, and shot down a missile near Millerovo.

Traditionally, Russian officials claimed there were no casualties or damages.

Night Explosions in Russia

Explosions were also reported in the Oryol region of Russia on the night of December 22. Reports indicated that it was loud in the area of the city of Oryol. The governor of the region complained about a drone attack. He stated that a fire broke out at the "Stary Kon" oil depot.

It is worth noting that on the night of December 14, Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked this oil depot in Oryol.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack and noted that it is one of the largest oil product terminals in Russia. The oil depot supplies fuel to the Russian army.

Additionally, it should be mentioned that drones are frequently launched from Oryol into Ukraine.
